International School
A warm, international team of dedicated educators committed to knowing every student as an individual, fostering a peaceful approach to learning, and supporting a seamless pathway of discovery.
At Esara, each year group has its own Form Tutor/Guide, a specialist teacher who is also the personal guide and advocate for every student in their group. Your child's Form Tutor/Guide knows their strengths, tracks their progress across all subjects, and works with you as a parent so nothing gets missed.
Unlike most international schools, students at Esara are not placed in subject classes based on age. Instead, they are grouped by assessed level, so every student works with peers who are at the same point in their learning, regardless of which year group they are in. Teaching is genuinely targeted, and no student is held back or left behind simply because of when they were born.
By combining responsive pastoral oversight with developmental level-based groupings, Esara constructs a respectful micro-community. Students develop academic stamina and emotional security side-by-side.
Most international schools place students in subject classes based purely on age. A Year 8 student sits with other Year 8 students regardless of whether they are working at Year 6 level or Year 10 level in that subject. Nobody wins.
At Esara, we assess every student and group them by their actual level in each subject. Teaching is genuinely targeted, classes move at the right pace, and every student is appropriately challenged. This is what Montessori-informed adaptive learning looks like at secondary level, and no other international school in Chiang Mai does it this way.
Every student is assessed in core subjects when they join. This tells us exactly where they are, not where we assume they should be.
Students join subject classes based on their assessed level, not their age. Mixed-year groups are normal, and they work better for everyone.
Form Tutors track each student's full journey (academic, personal, and pastoral) and keep parents informed and involved throughout.
Teachers pitch their lessons at the right level because everyone in the room is genuinely at that exact level of mastery.
A Year 9 student assessed as ready can begin IGCSE content early. Age is never an artificial barrier to going further.
With Thailand, USA & China our largest groups, level-based grouping means our international mix is reflected across every class, not concentrated in any one group.
Our dynamic, highly qualified international mentors help students thrive through active curiosity, mutual respect, and tailored pathways. Click any card to explore their credentials and approach.
